About us

Nje-Njel is an online peer-to-peer delivery platform connecting people who need to send something to travellers going that way.

We created Nje-Njel based on what Africans have been doing for years: looking for a traveller to send something to a loved one or to receive that special product they’ve been wanting but can’t find in their country. We wanted to create a place where finding that person is quick and easy so that families and friends can stay connected and travellers can make some extra cash

The name Nje-Njel comes from the traditional social organisation of Bassa villages in Cameroon, where the “Nje-Njel” people are the ones who deliver mails and messages.  In all African societies a specific group of people act as messengers, which shows the commonality of customs throughout the continent. We aim to create a strong community of people who trust each other and are ready to help for a faster, cheaper and sustainable solution.
